Pharaoh book plot is ridiculous, details are ridiculous, dialogue (such as it is; most of Pharaoh book book is narration) is ridiculous; continuity with his earlier books is non-existent (there are too many conflicts between previous stories to mention; not the least of which, Pharaoh Tamose was killed by the Hyksos, in Smith's 3rd Egypt book, and eventually /5(K).

This book is the sixth one in Smith's Egyptian series. Queen Lostris' son, Pharaoh Tamose is mortally wounded on the battlefield after years of war with the Hyksos.

His firstborn son, Utterick, becomes Pharaoh, and a period of darkness starts in Egypt despite their winning the war with the Hyksos. Utterick is a selfish, vain, cruel and weak leader/5.

In the Book of Exodus. In the Book of Exodus, the Israelites, the descendants of Jacob's sons, are living in the Land of Goshen, under a new pharaoh. This pharaoh has forgotten all of Joseph's contributions and seeks to oppress the Hebrews, forcing them to work long hours without break and killing their children to reduce their numbers.

The book is well researched, and clearly displays the daily life of someone living in ancient Egypt. I also loved how different the characters were and the friendship between Narmer and Nitho developed along with the story.

I would really love to see a sequel to this book which tells a /5. Our first Pharaoh only appears for a couple of chapters, but he sets in motion the events of the entire book. Right off the bat, we're told that this guy "did not know Joseph" ().

Pharaoh Utteric is young, weak and cruel, and threatened by Taita’s influence within the palace – especially his friendship with Utteric’s younger and worthier brother, Ramases. With Taita’s imprisonment, Ramases is forced to make a choice: help Taita escape and forsake his brother, or remain silent and condone Utteric’s tyranny.

Question: "Who was the Pharaoh of the Exodus?" Answer: The name most commonly associated with the Pharaoh of the Exodus is Ramses (often spelled as Ramesses or Rameses). This is the name used in movies such as The Ten Commandments, The Prince of Egypt, and Exodus: Gods and this connection may be common in pop culture, the Bible doesn’t give an explicit name for this ruler.
